Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Electrical to lead the Electrical Engineering section and provide technical leadership across engineering projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electrical engineering activities, ensuring the quality and technical integrity of deliverables, and coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project execution.
The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and requires a strong electrical engineering background. Senior/Lead Electrical Engineers with demonstrated capability to lead an electrical engineering section are encouraged to apply.
Scope of work
- Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities across assigned projects.
- Manage and provide technical guidance to electrical engineers and designers within the section.
- Review electrical engineering deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards and specifications.
- Provide technical oversight for electrical design activities and resolve engineering issues arising during project execution.
- Coordinate electrical interfaces with other engineering disciplines and relevant project stakeholders.
- Support project planning, resource allocation, engineering schedules and delivery of discipline activities.
- Review vendor documentation and provide technical input during procurement and project execution.
- Ensure electrical engineering work is completed in accordance with project quality, safety and technical requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the electrical engineering team.
- Support the Engineering Management team in the successful execution of projects.
Key requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas, energy, offshore, marine or EPC/EPCC environment.
- Strong experience in electrical engineering design and review of relevant engineering deliverables.
- Previous experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer, Lead Electrical Engineer, Electrical Engineering Manager, or equivalent leadership position.
- Demonstrated capability to lead an electrical engineering team or section.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination, technical problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical engineering codes, standards and industry practices.
- BEM registration is preferred.
- Candidates with FEED, detailed engineering and/or EPC/EPCC project experience will be advantageous.
