Overview
We are seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to support offshore Oil & Gas projects, with a strong focus on offshore piping routing, loading lines, brownfield modifications, marine interfaces, and congested/tight-layout environments.
The role requires practical engineering experience in offshore facilities where piping design must account for existing systems, structural and equipment constraints, constructability, operability, safety, and multidisciplinary interfaces.
Candidates with predominantly greenfield EPC experience and limited offshore exposure will not be the primary fit for this position.
Scope of work
- Perform piping engineering and design activities for offshore Oil & Gas facilities, including brownfield modifications and upgrades.
- Develop, review, and optimise piping routing and layouts within congested or space-constrained offshore environments.
- Support engineering activities related to loading lines and marine piping interfaces.
- Assess existing piping systems and site constraints when developing brownfield modification solutions.
- Review piping layouts, plot plans, equipment arrangements, piping isometrics, and other relevant engineering deliverables.
- Resolve routing clashes and complex layout issues involving piping, structural, mechanical, process, E&I, and other disciplines.
- Coordinate piping interfaces with marine, structural, mechanical, process, and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure designs consider constructability, accessibility, operability, maintainability, and offshore installation requirements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary reviews, model reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Identify potential engineering and interface issues early and develop practical solutions suitable for offshore execution.
- Ensure piping engineering deliverables comply with applicable project specifications, client requirements, industry codes, and standards.
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Relevant experience as a Piping Engineer within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong practical experience in offshore piping engineering and design.
- Demonstrated experience with brownfield modifications on offshore facilities.
- Experience in offshore piping routing and tight/congested layout problem-solving.
- Exposure to loading lines and/or marine piping interfaces is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of piping layouts, equipment interfaces, constructability, accessibility, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Familiarity with applicable piping engineering codes, standards, and offshore project requirements.
- Able to independently identify and resolve piping routing and interface issues.
- Experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs, FSOs, FLNGs, or similar offshore facilities would be advantageous.
