Overview

The Manager, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) will lead and oversee electrical and instrumentation engineering activities for the project, with responsibility for design review, technical assurance and coordination throughout project delivery.

The role will work within the Owner’s Engineer team to ensure electrical, instrumentation and control systems are designed and delivered in accordance with project requirements, applicable standards and overall project objectives.

The position will cover key E&I systems including electrical systems, instrumentation, SCADA, power distribution, protection and control systems.

Scope of work

  • Lead and coordinate Electrical & Instrumentation engineering activities across the project.
  • Perform and oversee E&I design reviews, engineering verification and technical assurance activities.
  • Review electrical systems, instrumentation, SCADA, power distribution, protection and control system designs and deliverables.
  • Provide technical oversight of E&I engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, datasheets and other E&I technical deliverables.
  • Ensure effective coordination of E&I interfaces with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
  • Support technical decision-making and resolution of E&I engineering issues.
  • Oversee E&I engineering activities associated with EPCC / Design & Build project delivery.
  • Ensure E&I engineering work complies with applicable project requirements, codes, standards and specifications.

Support site-based engineering activities and provide technical input during project execution, construction, testing and commissioning, where required.

Key requirements

  • - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
  • - Strong relevant engineering experience within Electrical & Instrumentation engineering.
  • - Proven experience in E&I design review, engineering coordination and technical assurance.
  • - Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, SCADA, power distribution, protection and control systems.
  • - Experience in EPCC and/or Design & Build project delivery.
  • - Demonstrated experience coordinating E&I activities with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • - Experience supporting engineering activities across design and project execution phases.
  • - Registered as a Professional Engineer with BEM or other relevant professional body, where applicable.
  • - Strong technical leadership, engineering coordination, problem-solving and stakeholder-management capabilities.
