Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Senior E&I Engineer to support offshore Oil & Gas engineering projects, with a strong focus on Electrical and/or Instrumentation detailed design and field installation.

The successful candidate should be a technically hands-on engineer who understands both the development of E&I engineering deliverables and how those designs are implemented at site.

The role requires close coordination with engineering, construction, vendors and other disciplines to ensure designs are practical, constructible and successfully executed in the field.

Scope of work

• Produce and review Electrical and/or Instrumentation detailed-engineering deliverables for offshore Oil & Gas projects.
• Prepare and review field instrumentation deliverables, including instrument datasheets, requisitions, installation details, hook-ups, cable schedules and related engineering documentation.
• Perform and coordinate cable routing and cable tray design, including 3D model coordination and interdisciplinary checks.
• Ensure E&I designs consider installation requirements, accessibility, constructability and actual site conditions.
• Prepare and review technical requisitions and support Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and vendor document reviews.
• Coordinate with vendors and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical and installation interfaces.
• Provide E&I engineering support during construction, installation and site execution.
• Resolve field engineering issues such as cable-routing clashes, tray-routing constraints, instrument installation/accessibility issues and discrepancies between engineering drawings and actual site conditions.
• Review and incorporate site feedback, field changes and construction requirements into engineering deliverables where required.
• Support the implementation of detailed engineering through installation and construction completion.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews and coordinate with engineering and construction teams to resolve design and constructability issues.

Key requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, Electronic or other relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong experience in Electrical and/or Instrumentation detailed engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Practical experience supporting E&I installation, construction or site engineering.
• Strong knowledge of field instrumentation and associated installation requirements.
• Experience with cable routing, cable trays and 3D model coordination.
• Experience preparing and reviewing instrument datasheets, requisitions, cable-related deliverables and installation documentation.
• Experience with TBE, vendor document review and technical vendor coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve E&I design and installation issues during site/construction execution.
• Experience taking detailed engineering deliverables through to field implementation is strongly preferred.
• Offshore Oil & Gas project experience is preferred.
• Candidates should have a strong detailed-design engineering background combined with installation/site exposure.
