Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer

Overview

Perform offshore structural engineering analysis and design, and prepare engineering deliverables.

Scope of work

The candidate will support structural analysis, design, review, coordination, and technical documentation for offshore structural scopes, including topsides, jackets, substructures, modules, equipment supports, pipe supports, brownfield modifications, structural assessments, and offshore project deliverables.

Candidates with hands-on experience in SACS, STAAD.Pro, USFOS, structural calculations, MTO, WCR, in-place/pre-service analysis, lifting, loadout, transportation, fatigue, pushover, boat impact, or structural integrity work are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform offshore structural engineering analysis and design for topsides, jackets, substructures, modules, decks, helidecks, equipment supports, pipe supports, and related offshore structures.
• Carry out or support structural analyses such as in-place, lifting, loadout, transportation, fatigue, pushover, boat impact, dynamic, pre-service, and in-service assessments.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including design reports, calculation notes, material take-offs, weight control reports, structural assessment reports, drawing mark-ups, and technical notes.
• Support brownfield and greenfield offshore projects, including modification works, deck extensions, equipment installation, platform assessment, and structural integrity checks.
• Coordinate with drafting/design teams to ensure structural drawings are updated based on latest analysis results, project inputs, and engineering requirements.
• Interface with other disciplines such as piping, mechanical, process, E&I, project, fabrication, installation, and client teams to close technical issues and deliverables.
• Review project documents, client specifications, design basis, drawings, WCR, vendor inputs, and relevant offshore engineering standards.
• For senior candidates: provide technical checking, mentor junior engineers, support discipline coordination, manage deliverable quality, and assist with client/interface discussions.

Requirements

• Intermediate Structural Engineer: Around 4–8 years of relevant offshore structural engineering experience.
• Senior Structural Engineer: Around 8+ years of relevant offshore structural engineering experience.
• Lead-level profiles may be considered if they are still hands-on and open to project delivery scope.

Technical Requirements

• Experience in offshore structural analysis and design for topsides, jackets, substructures, etc.
• Hands-on use of engineering software such as SACS, STAAD.Pro, USFOS, SESAM, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or similar tools.
• Preparation of engineering deliverables such as analysis reports, MTO, WCR, calculation reports, design basis, technical notes, drawing mark-ups, and structural analysis reports.
• Familiarity with offshore design standards such as API, AISC, ISO, DNV, and PETRONAS Technical Standards / PTS.
• Offshore project stages experience such as FEED, detailed design, EPCIC, brownfield modification, fabrication support, installation support, or structural integrity assessment.
• Ability to explain project experience clearly, including actual personal scope, deliverables prepared, software used, and technical issues resolved.

Preferred Experience

• FPSO / topsides / module / package engineering exposure.
• Turret, mooring, offshore loading, or FPSO vessel-interface exposure is an added advantage.
• Brownfield offshore modification experience.
• Structural integrity, RBI, SIMS, ALES, fatigue, pushover, or fitness-for-service exposure.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, fabrication yards, offshore/site teams, or international project teams.
