Overview

Develop safety deliverables, review safety studies, and ensure compliance with standards and HSE requirements under minimal supervision.

Scope of work

Assist the Lead and Section Head in developing quality deliverables within schedule, cost, and HSE requirements for Projects or Proposals.
Be familiar with international standards such as NFPA, AS, EI, API, and company specifications including Norsok, Total, PTS, Shell company standards, and local regulations.
Work independently with minimal supervision to meet project schedule, cost, and quality.
Interact with other discipline engineers.
Be familiar with safety activities and deliverables including consequence modelling tools such as Phast, FRED, Vessfire, and Pipenet.
Review third-party safety consultants' safety study reports.
Experience in loss prevention engineering including firewater system design, hazardous area classification, safety layouts, fire suppression system design, dispersion studies, etc.
Hands-on experience with software such as Pipenet and Phast.
Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia or international body as Professional Member.
Fluent in English.

Key requirements

Bachelor in Chemical Engineering
15 years of working experience in Technical Safety field
Familiarity with NFPA, AS, EI, API, BS, ISO, IP standards
Experience in loss prevention engineering and safety system designs
Hands-on experience with Pipenet and Phast software

Certifications required

Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia or International Professional Membership
